This can happen if the time zone settings are incorrect, or the device has been off for a long time, especially if it is battery powered.

The steps to resolve are as follows:

1: Connect to the VPN. There is a time server on the Social Care Wales network, the device will synchronise with it once connected but it may take some time. You can force the sync to take place after joining by opening the Command Prompt from the start menu search bar and entering the command "w32tm /resync" and then pressing Enter.

2) Check the time zone settings. To do this, go to Settings and search for Time Zone. As we work in the UK, you will need to select UTC + 0 (Dublin, Edinburgh, London, Lisbon). This is especially important to make sure that the correct daylight saving rules are applied.

3) If all else fails, you can change the time manually. This is especially important if the time is a few days out, as this can prevent connection to the Internet. To do this, go to Control Panel, then choose Date and Time, and click the Change Date and Time button. Ignore the administrator shield, it will let you do it as a standard user. Change the time to the appropriate time and click OK.
